The year is winding down and it's been a year like no other. I feel lucky to have been in Queensland throughout 2020, where lockdowns and restrictions occurred, but not to the extent of many other countries. Family and friends are still in lockdown over Christmas in the UK, and staying home in the US, Spain and France. My Cypriot friends are in a similar situation to Australia and New Zealand - feeling grateful that we can still go out, socialise (with spacing and sanitising in place) and enjoy the fresh air and open spaces.
A vaccine is on the way, or a whole flurry of them, it seems. Opinion is divided on taking something that seems almost rushed through, but being trapped inside seems to have made many feel they would take it now, if it means some semblance of normality returning. What are your thoughts on this ...?
I plan to continue my sporadic blog in 2021, and I have no idea what it will be about. But isn't that the joy of writing sometimes? The blank page, the flashing cursor on an empty screen ... will it be diary notes, fiction, observations, work tips, or perhaps all of these?
All I know is I hope you will occasionally join me on the journey.
Wishing you a happy new year, and thank you for reading.
